Kazakhstan companies sign contracts worth US$52 million

Businesspeople in Kazakhstan are strengthening cooperation with entrepreneurs from Uzbekistan. A forum between the business circles of the two countries took place in Uzbekistan, during which, Kazakh entrepreneurs signed seven contracts worth US$52 million. The participants also discussed prospects of further cross-border cooperation. According to Kazakh Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebayev, more than half of Uzbekistan’s trade turnover passes through Kazakhstan. Great help for its further development will be the cross-border “Central Asia” center, the construction of which was launched by the heads of the two governments in April. According to experts, the trade turnover between the two countries has significantly increased since the beginning of the year and has totaled at US$1.5 billion, which is 46 percent higher than last year’s volumes.
