Vouchers to train 20,000 IT specialists will be issued in Kazakhstan, the country’s Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry Bagdat Mussin said at a meeting with Indian Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi. The topic of the meeting was cooperation of the two countries in digitalization, ICT, commercialization of innovations.

 “It is important to have highly qualified IT specialists to carry out digital transformation. IT vouchers will be issued in Kazakhstan every year for training in private IT schools. This will let anyone wishing to retrain as an IT specialist in the first-class educational institutions that the market will make. 20,000 vouchers will be issued by 2025,” the head of the department said.

The Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry added that Kazakhstan set a course for the proactive provision of services, having launched the ‘digital documents’ service and transferred the obtaining of an electronic digital signature to a remote format.

“Our ministry is keen on exploring the prospects of cooperation with India in the fields of ICT, e-governance, smart city, advanced training of IT specialists, telecommunications, cybersecurity, space industry, as well as promoting collaboration opportunities between relevant agencies, technoparks, venture funds and enterprises,” Mussin summarized.

The Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture of India Meenakshi Lekhi expressed readiness for mutual exchange of experience and collaboration in these fields.
