Kazakh authors were recognized as the best at the Independent Eurasian Film Festival in London. The work ‘Bifurcation Point’ by journalist, writer Natalia Makhno won in the ‘Best Screenplay’ category and Dilshat Rakhmatullin’s animation film “Lullaby” received the Audience Award.

“Congratulations to Natalia for her wonderful film from Kazakhstan. There were a lot of good films, and this one just really spoke to us, a very, very worthy winner. It is a very good story, very well made, written, excellent acting and a very good winner,” said Peter  Bland, a jury member.

“Great to see the creativity, it comes out of Central Asia in the UK, and that is the important thing. We just do not see enough of this cinema, and organizations like the ECG allow that to happen and that is so important that more of these films get out. It has been incredible; there have been some wonderful submissions for the Eurasian Creative Guild Film Festival,” said Spencer Hawken, a film festival organizer.

The film festival, organized by the Eurasian Creative Guild, is being held this year for the fourth time. Representatives of 11 countries took part in it and in total 25 works were presented. Every year, the competition gathers hundreds of talented directors, actors, producers, screenwriters and animators from all over the world.
