The withdrawal of the CSTO peacekeepers from Kazakhstan continues. Militaries from Armenia, Tajikistan, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan left the city of Almaty today. They were entrusted with the task of guarding strategic facilities of the metropolis. The peacekeeping contingent went home right after loading of equipment and military personnel. Kyrgyz units will get to their permanent base on their own. Representatives of Armenia, Belarus and Tajikistan will be delivered home by Russian military transport aircraft IL-76.
“We go home with our heads up and confidence. The most important things in this operation are the issues of organizing interaction, guard and defense of high-security objects. We think that we will also work out this stage during the upcoming trainings within the CSTO. I am sure that not only the contingent of Tajikistan, all the peacekeepers did well. Because President of Kazakhstan confidently stated that the first peacekeeping mission organized on the territory of the CSTO member states has been successfully completed,” said Mirovar Khushbakht, First Deputy Chief of General Staff, Armed Forces of Tajikistan.
