Kazakh tourists who got stuck in the airports of different countries over the difficult situation in Kazakhstan are gradually returning. Not all of them arrived. However, Kazakh Embassies make every effort to help them find their way home. 300 of our compatriots are still in Georgia. The diplomats set up a 24-hour helpline for them. Also, the Kazakh-Georgian economic association offered financial assistance to Kazakh tourists.

“Since the suspension of flights from Georgia to Kazakhstan, the Embassy has been doing everything possible to help Kazakh citizens return home, and provide them with everything they need. Nearly 300 people are expected to take off to date. Air Astana is set to resume flights from Tbilisi to Almaty from January 12. When planning flights, the priority is for women with children, the elderly and those who bought tickets for the first days of the month,” said Yerlan Abishev, Consul of Kazakh Embassy in Georgia.

“We fly home to Aktobe, Kazakhstan. We have been on vacation in Tbilisi since January 3. Airport check-in is in process today. I hope we will see our relatives with whom we couldn’t connect. The Internet was shut down in Kazakhstan. The situation is stable, it is improving now. I hope everything will be fine,” added Dinara Izbayeva, a Kazakh citizen.
